Daniel Pressman, nTuple

Dan Pressman has been an independent consultant specializing in Hyperion/Essbase for the last seventeen years. Dan is both a technical and functional expert, supported by a BS in computer science and an MBA in finance, both from Columbia University. A recognized specialist in both ASO and BSO tuning, he has worked on numerous full system implementations of Planning, Essbase, Financial Reporting, and the full gamut of the EPM suite.

Recently Dan's work has focused on ASO tuning and he is the author of the Chapter: "Designing ASO for Performance" in the book Developing Essbase Applications: Advanced Techniques for Finance and IT Professionals. This chapter, along with his other writings and presentations, includes unpublished information on the inner workings of the ASO engine. The work is based on original empirical research and has resulted in techniques and information not available publically anywhere else. Additionally, he has written tuning techniques involving memory-mapped IO, compound attributes, operating system compression, and the use of surrogate keys.
